Issues of International Concern
Okay, okay, I admit -- I am misleading you. This blog entry has nothing to do with politics, world peace, global warming, or even religion. This is show business (which is everybody's business. Hahaha).
Not that I have too much time on my hands -- I am a busy person, but I still manage to annoy myself by reading up on the latest on two girls I absolutely detest : Gretchen Barretto and Angelina Jolie. This being my blog/journal, I will give my two-cents' worth!
Gretchen Barretto
She is definitely beautiful. Not just pretty, but beeyutiful! But gee, her snootiness, high-maintenance and materialistic attitude, and love for self do not exactly go with her physical/outermost beauty. She thinks highly of herself, beauty-wise. Her natural beauty is captivating, but face it -- if I had the money and all the time in the world, I would probably be a ravishing beauty with a great bod, as well (okay, okay ... not quite)!
It freaks me out whenever Gretchen refers to her live-in cash cow, Tonyboy Cojuangco, as her "husband", and herself, his "wife". Puhleese, doesn't this girl own a dictionary?! You are a mistress, a kabit, the other woman. She is a mistress with an attitude -- her ego emboldens her to parade herself as the "wife". Other mistresses are just discreet and assuming.
I was reading Yes! magazine's January 2007 issue, which ran a handful of pages on Gretchen. In it, she said things like, oh, yeah, I love material things; life is beautiful; etc. She is so detached from reality, clings on to her material wealth (which, by the way, is not truly hers ... don't say katas ng showbiz 'yan?), and mouthes quotable quotes that she's starting to sound like an infamous someone ... an infamous someone who has also lost her marbles. Who else but the self-proclaimed mother of the Philippines, Imelda Marcos. I can see the similarities!
And what's with all these conflict between her and other showbiz personalities? Gretchen has so much venom, she's totally lost it. She dropped the bomb on an action "star" who had an illegitimate child while married to his actress-wife. What kind of person are you, obviously wanting to inflict pain, not only on the couple, but also on their poor helpless children? And excuse me, word has been going around for years that your own daughter is his, too. Poor little daughter -- illegitimate, and has you for her mother.
Gretchen is so nouveau riche that she is an embarrassment to her live-in partner. A friend of mine witnessed how she got off her Jaguar at Glorietta, then did not even bother to close the driver's-side door. Her bodyguard had to scramble out of the back-up vehicle to immediately shut the door. What about making parinig to an older lady in an RCBC Tower elevator, "Please tell this old woman to get out of the elevator." to which the older lady responded, "Please tell this social climber to get out of my building!". Or what about that incident in GT Tower, where an employee was forbidden to get on the same elevator -- the girl screamed at her, saying (in Tagalog) "Who do you think you are?! Do you own this elevator? You're just a mistress!". Gretchen signaled to her bodyguard to let her in, but the employee was so furious, she just lashed out that she would rather not, lest she pull the social climber's hair. Of course, she denied these incidents.
Real rich people don't act this way. Only nouveau riche do. Talo pa niya ang mga true blue.
What about her ridiculous obsession for material things? I understand enjoying material things and only wanting what is beautiful -- if you can afford it, then go for it. But why flaunt it? More than 3/4 of the entire Philippine population live in poverty, and here you are, displaying your Cartiers and Manolos, not just in magazine shoots but on national television. And get this -- her maids have to wear gloves when cleaning her designer bags. Gretchen gets upset that her week-old designer bags are already yesterday's old news. If I get my hands on her bags, I will slash them with my long finger nails!
People who are organized like to categorize things, or maintain files and sort of catalogue them. But listen to this -- she catalogues her dinnerware! I'm sure she also catalogues her jewelry.

Gretchen is, indeed, beautiful on the outside. But her snooty demeanor and shallow persona are her bubble. I'd like to burst that bubble and have purple ink splatter on her face (and don't forget the handbags!)!
Angelina Jolie
This is one major weirdo. Angelina is definitely dysfunctional. She was 14 years old when her older boyfriend moved in with her, living with Angelina, her mother, and her brother. Kunsintidor rin naman ang nanay, 'no (God rest her soul)?
She had a fascination for knives and blood. When she married her first husband, she had his name scrawled on the back of her blouse in her own blood.
She has admitted to being bisexual. She's had psychological problems so many times. She's French-kisssed her brother at the Oscars, gushing that she was so in love with him.
Billy Bob Thornton was still engaged to Laura Dern when Angelina stole him. She made him husband number 2. Remember her fascination with blood? They signed their wills in their own blood. They wore vials containing each other's blood. And as a first-year wedding anniversary gift, she gave Billy Bob his-and-hers cemetery plots. Is that weird or what?
Oh, and she was an exhibitionist -- at a red-carpet affair, she seductively kissed her husband all over his face, and sucked on his lower lip, right while he was being interviewed by an entertainment reporter. Get a room!
Present day. While filming "Mr. & Mrs. Smith", rumors circulated that Angelina and her co-star, Brad Pitt, were having an affair. Her response -- "To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn't be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife." This affair, she denied several times. She bragged that she had a lot of lovers, that she did not need to have an affair with a married man. So when did she finally admit to the relationship -- when she was pregnant with their child. Ugh!
Angelina projects herself as a humanitarian. A kind soul. A rescuer of abandoned children around the world. Sure, her mission of wanting to save the children of the world is admirable ... but can they be saved from her clutches? She adopts children left and right that it has become ridiculous already. It's lost its "novelty", as she seems to have made adoption a hobby (she plans to adopt another child before the year ends); and her adopted children, a collection.
After adopting a boy from Vietnam this year, Angelina announced that she would devote her time to her children and be a mother to four kids. Well, what do you know -- a week after, she flies off to shoot a movie, and leaves Brad to be nanny.
Does Angelina think she is doing what is right and best for these children by globe-trotting them along with her? These little kids need a sense of permanence, security, and their identity. They need to stay put and know that this is HOME, this is where I live and these are my neighbors, and this is where I go to school. Home is not where your suitcases land. She is absolutely selfish.
And what's this I read -- in an interview with the UK edition of Elle magazine, she says that she doesn't feel much for her biological child, Shiloh, because she was born privileged. There hardly are photos of her carrying her daughter. She is usually seen holding her adopted children. What the??!

Angelina is not an angel with a genuine heart. She's just a devil in disguise, trying to mask her self-serving deeds with humanitarian causes.
And so ends my rant. Yes, these are issues of international concern. Yeah.
